Megan Zeni

Megan Zeni is a first year PhD student in the faculty of education at UBC (EDCP) with over 20 years of K-7 classroom teaching experience. Megan currently teaches in a public school outdoor classroom and is an advocate for the social, emotional and cognitive benefits of outdoor and garden classrooms beyond the preschool years. She consults extensively on garden classroom start up and maintenance, as well as practical tips for joyful learning with all sorts of loose parts outdoors. Her research interests include teacher perceptions of risk, playful inquiry outdoors, and capacity building opportunities for normalizing outdoor cross-curricular learning in BC schools.
